Who I am

I’m Ethan Butler, and I run Creator Mail Stack (creatormailstack.com), an informational website. This policy explains what data is collected when you visit, why, and what choices you have. Contact details are on the contact page.

Information collected

• Hosting and security logs: The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may automatically process your IP address, browser user agent, referrer and the pages you request in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
• Analytics: I use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-CKTV6206VH) to understand aggregate traffic, such as which pages are viewed, approximate location (city/country level), device and browser type, and how visitors arrived. I use this only to decide what to write and fix. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
• Email you send me: If you email me, I keep your message and address only as long as needed to reply and keep a record of the conversation.

I do not run on-site forms, user accounts, comments, or display advertising, and I do not ask for payment information.

Cookies and similar technologies

• Google Analytics cookies (for example _ga and _ga_*) distinguish visits and sessions.
• Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies.
• Third-party sites: when you click an outbound link to a product site, that site may set its own cookies once you arrive there.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across sites with Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links. Currently the only affiliate links are for Beehiiv, Buttondown, Systeme.io and EmailOctopus. Beehiiv links carry a referral parameter (?via=ethan-butler), Buttondown links use a referral URL (buttondown.com/refer/creatormailstack), Systeme.io links carry an affiliate parameter (?sa=…), and EmailOctopus links carry a referral parameter (?ref=ethan). When you click one, the vendor or its affiliate platform may set a cookie or record the referral so a commission can be credited if you sign up. That tracking happens on the vendor's site under the vendor's privacy policy. I do not receive your name, email or payment details from vendors, only aggregate referral and commission reports. Sharing

I do not sell or rent personal information. Service providers (Cloudflare for hosting and DNS, Google for analytics, my email provider) process data only as needed to provide their services.

Retention

Google Analytics data is kept according to the retention setting in my Analytics property (Google's default for GA4 event data is two months, and it can be set up to 14 months). Emails are kept as long as needed for the conversation and my records.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, or to object to certain processing. Email me using the address on the contact page and I will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK), and I do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If I change this policy, I will update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page.
