Quick verdict
- Pick MailerLite if you send weekly to a list of up to about 10,000 and want automations for your whole list, a website, landing pages and paid newsletters with no vendor logo. Comfort is $19 a month (or $17.10 billed yearly) at up to 1,000 subscribers, and the price stays the same whether you send once a month or once a week. It’s our value pick for most creators.
- Pick Brevo if you have a big list that you email rarely, or you want SMS and transactional email in the same account. Brevo prices mainly by emails sent: Starter’s 20,000-email step is $32 a month and lets you store up to 500,000 contacts.
- The catch with each: Brevo’s Free and Starter plans let only 2,000 contacts into automations, and Free always shows a “Sent with Brevo” logo (on Starter, removing it is a paid add-on). MailerLite’s Free plan stops at 250 subscribers, and Comfort caps you at 50 active automations.

Two pricing models: subscribers vs emails sent
MailerLite bills on unique active subscribers, in tiers such as up to 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000. Comfort includes 10 times your tier’s ceiling in monthly emails (10,000 emails on the up-to-1,000 tier), and Power has unlimited sending, subject to fair use. Sending more often doesn’t change the price until you pass that allowance.
Brevo bills mainly on monthly email volume, campaigns and transactional emails combined. Its plan builder pairs each volume step with a contact allowance: 500 contacts at 5,000 emails, 1,500 at 10,000, 2,500 at 15,000, and up to 500,000 from 20,000 emails. Its feature table agrees: the contacts you can store depend on your email volume. So a list above 2,500 contacts needs at least the 20,000-email step, however rarely you send.
| Emails a month | Contacts included | Brevo Starter | Brevo Standard |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5,000 | 500 | $9 / $8.08 | $18 / $16.17 |
| 10,000 | 1,500 | $17 / $15.25 | $35 / $31.50 |
| 15,000 | 2,500 | $25 / $22.50 | $49 / $44.08 |
| 20,000 | 500,000 | $32 / $28.75 | $69 / $62.08 |
| 30,000 | 500,000 | $39 / $35.08 | $79 / $71.08 |
| 50,000 | 500,000 | $56 / $50.42 | $97 / $87.25 |
| 100,000 | 500,000 | $82 / $73.75 | $139 / $125.08 |

Monthly price, then the per-month price on yearly billing (Brevo takes 10% off for yearly). Starter tops out at 100,000 emails a month; Standard’s plan builder goes on to 500,000. Professional starts at $499 a month ($449.08 billed yearly) from 150,000 emails, with 10 seats and phone support, and Enterprise starts at $2,499 a month. Brevo also sells prepaid email credits that never expire. Checked on brevo.com/pricing, October 7, 2026.
What each costs by list size and sending frequency
We priced lists of 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 contacts sending monthly or weekly, on monthly billing. Weekly is sized at five sends, since some months have five. Brevo’s step must cover both the emails and the contacts.
| Scenario | Emails a month | Brevo step needed | Brevo Starter | Brevo Standard | MailerLite Comfort |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 contacts, monthly | 1,000 | 10,000 (for 1,500 contacts) | $17 | $35 | $19 |
| 1,000 contacts, weekly | 5,000 | 10,000 (for 1,500 contacts) | $17 | $35 | $19 |
| 5,000 contacts, monthly | 5,000 | 20,000 (for the contacts) | $32 | $69 | $49 |
| 5,000 contacts, weekly | 25,000 | 30,000 | $39 | $79 | $49 |
| 10,000 contacts, monthly | 10,000 | 20,000 (for the contacts) | $32 | $69 | $89 |
| 10,000 contacts, weekly | 50,000 | 50,000 | $56 | $97 | $89 |

Reading the table, by our arithmetic:
- Lowest bill: Brevo Starter, in all six scenarios, with the Brevo logo (unless you pay to remove it), the 2,000-contact automation limit and no landing pages.
- Like for like: Brevo Standard and MailerLite Comfort both drop the vendor logo and open automations to your whole list. MailerLite is cheaper in five of the six scenarios: $16 a month less at 1,000 contacts, $20 less at 5,000 monthly, $30 less at 5,000 weekly and $8 less at 10,000 weekly. Brevo Standard wins the big-list, light-sending case: $69 against $89 at 10,000 contacts sending monthly.
- Frequency: moving from monthly to weekly doesn’t change MailerLite’s price, but it adds $7 a month on Brevo Starter and $10 on Standard at 5,000 contacts, and $24 and $28 at 10,000.
- A year at 5,000 contacts sending weekly, on yearly billing: Brevo Starter $420.96, MailerLite Comfort $529.20 and Brevo Standard $852.96.
- Heavy senders: a 10,000 list sending three times a week (up to 150,000 emails a month) outgrows Comfort’s 10× allowance and needs Power, at $129 with unlimited sending (fair use). On Brevo it needs Standard’s 150,000 step, at $179.

Free plans compared
MailerLite Free covers up to 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month, with 3 automations, 1 website, 1 landing page, 1 digital product or booking and 2 seats. The MailerLite logo stays on, and once you pass 250 active subscribers, sending is locked until you upgrade or remove subscribers. See our MailerLite free plan guide.
Brevo Free needs no card and stores up to 100,000 contacts, but sends only 300 emails a day once your account is approved, and unused emails don’t roll over. A campaign to more than 300 people reaches 300 that day; you resend to the rest with Brevo’s Requeue option on later days. The “Sent with Brevo” logo always shows, only 2,000 contacts can enter automations, there’s one user, and A/B testing, landing pages, WhatsApp and phone support aren’t included.
Which free plan fits? Under 250 subscribers, MailerLite Free sends to everyone at once and adds a website. Above that, Brevo Free holds the list, but by our arithmetic a campaign to 1,000 people takes four days.
Automations
MailerLite’s visual automation builder is on every plan: 3 active automations on Free (5 steps each), 50 on Comfort and unlimited on Power, with up to 100 steps on paid plans and multiple triggers on Power. RSS campaigns and auto-resend start on Comfort.
Brevo’s multi-step automations can mix email, SMS and other channels, with real-time event triggers and multiple entry points. On Free and Starter, up to 2,000 unique contacts can enter your active automations; after that, no new contacts can enter, though those already inside continue. Standard and above remove the limit. If your welcome sequence will greet more than 2,000 people, compare Brevo Standard with MailerLite, not Starter.
Creator features: websites, landing pages and paid newsletters
- Website and landing pages: MailerLite includes a website builder with a blog section and landing pages on every plan (1 each on Free, 10 on Comfort, unlimited on Power), with custom domains from Comfort. Brevo lists landing pages from Standard (1 page) and Professional (10) and signup forms, but no website builder.
- Paid newsletters and products: MailerLite lists paid newsletters and recurring subscriptions on Comfort and Power through Stripe, plus digital products and bookings (1 on Free, 5 on Comfort, unlimited on Power). Brevo’s pricing pages don’t list paid newsletter subscriptions; its feature table lists Brevo Payments for services in France only.
SMS, WhatsApp and transactional email
This is Brevo’s clearest advantage. SMS credits are an add-on on every plan, priced by the recipient’s country, with sending to 180+ countries. WhatsApp campaigns need Professional or Enterprise, with credits priced by country and template type. Transactional email runs through the same account and email volume, and web push is included. MailerLite’s pricing page doesn’t list SMS or WhatsApp, and points transactional email to MailerSend, a separate product.
