Hi, I’m Ethan Butler.
I run Creator Mail Stack, an independent guide for solo creators choosing a newsletter or email tool. I research and write every page myself, and I built this site so you can pick a tool with confidence and get back to writing.
Why I built this site
If you publish on your own, choosing a newsletter tool can eat up days: pricing pages that keep changing, feature grids that all look alike, and reviews that are hard to trust. I started Creator Mail Stack in September 2026 to make that choice simpler, with plain-language guides and comparisons of tools like Beehiiv, Kit and MailerLite.
This site is for newsletter writers and solo creators who want one tool that fits how they actually publish, without enterprise bloat. I organize recommendations by the job you need done, not by a single “#1 overall” pick.
My business email is on the forgehqtx.com domain, which I also use for my small automation-product business, so if you see that address in a message about Creator Mail Stack, it’s me. And yes, that’s my dog next to me in the picture above, easily the friendliest face on the site.
How I research and review tools
I want you to be able to check my work, so these are the rules I follow on every page.
Primary sources, linked
I work from each vendor’s own public pricing pages, feature pages and help docs, and I link to them so you can verify what I say.
Dated and kept current
Pricing and plan limits are marked with the date I checked them. When a plan changes, I update the page and its date.
Clear about what I tested
If I haven’t used a tool hands-on, I say so. I don’t claim testing I haven’t done.
No paid placements
Companies can’t buy a ranking, a “#1” spot or a sponsored review on this site.
No fake reviews
No fabricated testimonials, invented star ratings or made-up statistics. Ever.
Downsides included
I cover watch-outs and tradeoffs, not just the selling points.
How this site makes money
The site earns money through affiliate commissions, not display ads. Some outbound links are affiliate links: if you sign up through one, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Right now the only affiliate links on the site are for Beehiiv, Buttondown, Systeme.io and EmailOctopus. Links to Kit, MailerLite, GetResponse and Flodesk go straight to their official sites, and I earn nothing from them.
Every current relationship is listed on my affiliate disclosure page. A commission never changes who I say a tool is for.
