How we made this page. Every MailerLite figure comes from MailerLite’s pricing page (plan cards, slider price data, comparison table and FAQ), with the trial cross-checked on MailerLite’s trial help article. Every Kit figure comes from Kit’s pricing page (plan cards and comparison table). All checked October 7, 2026, in USD. We don’t buy or trial the tools ourselves; where a price only appears in a pricing calculator, we say so.

Free plans compared

As of October 7, 2026:

The difference in one line: Kit Free gives you a much bigger list and lets you charge for things. MailerLite Free gives you automation on a small list.

That matters: an automatic welcome email is an automation, so MailerLite Free can send one and Kit Free can’t.

When you outgrow free. MailerLite’s pricing FAQ says a free account that goes over 250 active subscribers has its sending (campaigns and automations) locked until you upgrade or remove subscribers. By our arithmetic, Kit’s free cap is 40× MailerLite’s (10,000 ÷ 250).
